Golden flame and tokyo skytree

The Sumida river, 27 km long (17 miles), flows through Tokyo. Its impact in Tokyo’s economy remains low. Part of the climate program « 10-year project for a green Tokyo », its banks have been revitalized.

26 bridges, more or less one per kilometer, have been built to fit with the Tokyo traffic needs.

From a higher spot, we realise how spread out and dense is the urban area of Tokyo. A solution to the metropolis sprawl has been to encourage verticality and tower constructions.
