A new and thriving Brooklyn (part one)
It is the first time for me that I fly to New York. I talked a lot with my friends who knew this place well and they all told me to have a look at Brooklyn. Here I am. I can see the Brooklyn bridge and Dumbo, the downtown area, on the other East river bank.
We quickly feel good « Welcome to Brooklyn, How sweet it is !». How not to take the offer.
It is a difficult task to describe Brooklyn in few words but some of its urban aspects could help. Walking in the street, you feel this will to make Brooklyn a modern, dynamic and creative place. Street art is everywhere in the city and it is a good example of the urban vibe I am talking about.
A part of this urban renewal is the result of the work of an youth generation of artists, entrepeneurs and artisans who have seen in Brooklyn a economic and cultural potential.
This generation is into environment stuff and healthy food, high-tech and fashion, contributing to create a lifestyle made in Brooklyn.
A lot of business are launched, It galvanizes the local economy. The arts and crafts industry is promoted and new trendy places see the light of day. For the last 30 years, Brooklyn has turned, from a dangerous borough, into the place to be in New York.
