A new and thriving Brooklyn (2nd part)
Firstofall, Brooklyn is an area with a strong identity, where the communities and the city’s past have played a key role in its development.
When it is time to modernize it, local authority face up with a difficult challenge.
One of the features of the city is based on its large industrial past, making Brooklyn an infinite adjustable borough and such a unique place.
During my stay (april), the season of the theme parks had not started yet in Coney Island. However, walking around, I could easily imagine how pleasant it would be to come here for summertime.
How to write about Brooklyn without mentioning its emblematic basketball team : The Nets. They now play in a new sport complex, the Barclays Center. To have talked to locals, the facility has not been yet approved by all.
While I was crossing the Brooklyn bridge, I had noticed that bank works were in progress. In fact, the Local authority decided to create a new park, the Brooklyn bridge park. Not only people can enjoy a space of nature along the East River banks, but it has an amazing panorama on the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan.
Off to Manhattan by the Williamsburg bridge, I come across a bike mechanic. That guy settled his workshop right in the middle of the bridge. Between small chats with cyclists and arousing curiosity of people like me, he reflects how unique brooklyn is, a place full of spirit.
